Meet Brett, our founder

Like you, I believe life is our greatest asset. Money, wealth, and retirement are important, but they are tools to help build the life we want. I’m Brett, founder of Henderson Wealth Management. As a Marine, dad, philanthropist, and avid community member, I see money as the path towards the life you want. Whether you want extended road trips across the country or spending more time with the family, your financial plan should match what you want from life. And that’s what we’re here to give you.

Brett Henderson

Brett Henderson

Owner, Senior Retirement Plan Consultant

As a prior US Marine Corps Officer, Brett brings a unique discipline to corporate finance. During his years of service Brett was an M1A1 tank officer, commanding and providing recommendations for the tactical employment of his unit. After his service as a Marine Officer, he began bringing the firepower to retirement plans. Brett has been in the corporate finance industry for 16 years, working as an advisor for Merrill Lynch and UBS Financial Services, and earning industry recognition such as the 2017 NAPA Young Guns Award and being named Financial Times Top 401(k) Advisors in 2016 and 2017. With a desire to provide a more personalized approach without sales quotas or proprietary products, he founded Henderson Wealth Management as an independent firm. When he is not facilitating retirement plans, Brett enjoys much of his time as a new father with his young son Lucas. He also enjoys taking his Jeep on desert expeditions. He graduated from Tulane University with a Bachelor of Science in Management and Accounting in 1998, and Boston University with a Master of Science in Business Administration in 2002. Brett is a Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®). What does that mean? It means he completed an advanced professional education and certification program for advisors who desire to serve their clients with the most sophisticated investment and portfolio management knowledge.

Aaron Gilman

Aaron Gilman

Chief Investment Officer, IFP

Aaron Gilman serves as the Chief Investment Officer for Independent Financial Partners and the President of IFP Asset Management. He conducts analytical research and due diligence for all investment types, portfolio analyses and construction, portfolio management, and directs all activities in IFP’s asset management group. Mr. Gilman also serves as the head of the IFP Investment Advisory Committee.

Mr. Gilman is an employee of Independent Financial Partners and not affiliated with Henderson Wealth Management.

Pete Nunley

Pete Nunley

Director, Asset Management, IFP

Pete Nunley conducts due diligence for investments and also helps manage IFPAM’s model portfolios. Additionally, Pete helps advisors with investment-related tasks, including researching stocks, ETFs and mutual funds, constructing portfolios, and building customized investment strategies. Pete also oversees strategy implementation within accounts on Pershing, Schwab, Fidelity, and TD Ameritrade. Pete serves on IFP’s Investment Advisory Committee.

The Battle Buddy Foundation ensures Veterans and their families receive programs and services that help them acclimate back to family and civilian life by:

  • Building a community of peer support for veterans and their families through programs, events and social media.
  • Providing elite service dogs to disabled veterans of all eras suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress, Traumatic Brain Injury and physical limitations, at no cost to the veteran.
  • Providing education and awareness to the public and private sectors pertaining to service dog law and etiquette, the rights of disabled veterans and other issues facing our veteran community.
